Lysana, dancer for the future… Schlemmer, constructor of the future…

March 15, 2009

While I was surfing through website Virtual History Film that covers the history of dance, too… I’ve stumbled on two amazing post cards of dancer whose artistic name was Lysana…

Lysana_1.jpg

Take a look at this images… it’s taken from the archive of Die Tanzbühnen der Welt and Der (Eckstein)  Künstlerische TanzLysana could be easily ‘teleported’ in year 2009 and no one would notice that these photos were taken in the second decade of twentieth century…

Of course, that reminded me on great Triadic Ballet from 1927 by Oskar Schlemmer… his work still impresses me so much…

Danse de La Chevre was written for her by Arthur Honegger (one of
Les Six).
