The Power of Thread, part 4: Anda Klancic – gallery

Anda Klancic was introduced on Body Pixel by my fellow blogger Ivana in her review and the gallery from Balkan Fiber Art event almost three years ago. Anda’s appealing  textile sculptures  have a special place here and we will definitely continue to cover activities by one of the most recognized European contemporary textile artist and the winner of prestigious competitions  around the globe.

The Power of Thread, part 3: Eta Sadar Breznik – gallery

Eta Sadar Breznik‘s space oriented woven sculptures present all possible views on thread from an architect. Monumental and almost like a skyscraper structured, but subtle tapestry, opens another visual perspective on fibers and textiles.

BelaBela means WhiteWhite in Slovenian.  BelaBela covers textile arts, interior and industrial design at the same time. BelaBela are Jana Mrsnik and Vesna Stih from Ljubljana.

The Power of Thread, part 1: Ksenija Baraga – gallery

Exhibition The Power of Thread (2010) features five Slovene contemporary textile artists: Ksenija Baraga, BelaBela – Jana Mrsnik & Vesna Stih, Eta Sadar Breznik and Anda Klancic.

The project has been curated by Ksenija Baraga and currently could be seen at the Ecomusee Textile de Haute-Alsace in France.We are happy to announce that all artists gave as permission to present their works from this exhibition on Body Pixel. Enjoy the power of sculptural textile arts!

Pocket cinema: Peter Kubelka’s lectures during 25FPS

Combining the mastery of experimental film making and the chemistry of cuisine, Peter Kubelka is certainly more than interesting person to listen to about the art of cinema, celluloid and the sound.

Thanks to peeps from 25FPS – International Festival of Experimental Film and Video we can enjoy two short footages from Kubelka’s lectures Metric Cinema and Metaphoric Cinema held in September, 2010.
