Chris Sugrue is an interaction designer, artist, programer and lecturer. She took part in the team which created one of the most intriguing and awarded wearable technology project in 2010 – The EyeWriter.
It’s a low-cost eye controlled drawing tool for ALS patients (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease), a degenerative neuromuscular disorder that causes paralysis, initially created for cult LA graffiti artist and activist Tempt1.
Chris spent this spring / summer as artist-in-residence in Ljudmila (Ljubljana, Slovenia), presenting her work also in Kibla (Maribor,) and netclub MaMa in Zagreb (Croatia). Her visit to Zagreb was organized by Center for Synergy of Digital and Visual Arts and Upgrade Zagreb! (both founded by Maja Kalogera).

I got earlier today _1minute69_‘s video clip from their latest performance B0DYSC4PES, presented few days ago at the LMP – Live Performers Meeting in Rome, that gathers live video performers, visual artists and VJs.
_1minute69_ is ‘an artist collective created by french digital media enthusiasts who share ideas and approaches on collaborative works. Bound by a common will to give the audience a playful experience through immersive and/or interactive universes, the collective artists develop pieces based on the grounds of illusion and representation, in the forms of performances, audiovisual installations, architectural projections and video stage designs.’

My next interview from the series of Cognitive of the Performative programme by Centre for Drama Art aka cdu was made during the Workshop with Choreographic Objects that I attended in December, guided by Scott deLahunta.
Scott deLahunta is a former dancer and choreographer, who began working in the mid-1990s as a researcher and coordinator for projects bringing together new media and live performance practices. For years he’s been advocating for creating software tools for choreographers from the environment of emerging new technologies.

Somewhere between the rows of the Art is Open Source project and FakePress are hiding the main suspects for launching the book ‘REFF RomaEuropa FakeFactory‘.
It’s a project that aims to combine the world of augmented reality, QR-codes, data visualization and the art of reading on your standard silicon devices (computer with cam) and ‘new born friendz’ such as iPad, iPhone or Android phone.
