Thanks to the fact that I’m following Icelandic composer Olafur Arnalds on Facebook I got the link to 26 minute BBC footage of Wayne McGregor’s choreography ‘Dyad 1909 (In The Spirit Of Diaghilev)’ from 2009… I like them both, McGregor and Arnalds…

I just realized that I never introduced male dancers in the ‘vintage category’… Therefore, I made a small selection of male dancers who were active between approximately 1900 to 1925. Back then, they made decadent ladies in the audience pretty upset and flushed in their faces…

OK, folkz! It’s just about perfect time for a new section on my blog, and that would be Readaholic. Yeah, we’re gonna read together some selected (read: free) books, articles and comics I will dig for you on the web.

Anyway, several weeks ago the Museum of Arts and Crafts in Zagreb opened an exhibition with photographs by Duro Janekovic (1912-1989). OK, today’s session is probably gonna be more interesting to girlz than boyz… but it’s an open class, so don’t be shy, put some ballet shoes and jump in… these are just basics… stretching your sinews a bit…
Jodie Gates, who will guide you through the secrets of beginners’ ballet, has mastered ballet while working with William Forsyth, Paul Taylor, Jiri Kylian, Cynthia Gregory, Agness DeMille… in Jeffrey Ballet, Frankfurt Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, Paris Opera Ballet, Scottish Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Houston Ballet, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Miami City Ballet, to name a few…
