Back in October I spoke with Thomas Dumke about CYNETart Festival and performative arts in the context of new media art. Our conversation was possible thanks to Sonja Lebos from UIII.org, Association for Interdisciplinary and Intercultural Research, based in Zagreb. Sonja’s organization is deeply rooted in architecture, urbanism and new media art.

Robin Rhode’s work amazes me completely… he was influenced by street art, sport, performative aspects of visual arts and subcultures of his native South Africa… Rhode is one of the top young contemporary artists today and I would call him freely a grandchild of Marcel Duchamp or Tadeusz Kantor…

‘Pioneering electronic composers FSOL have teamed up with surround sound guru Rodney Orpheus from DTS, Procella audio systems and Yamaha to create a specially constructed piece of 3-D audio-architecture specifically commissioned for Kinetica’s ‘Life Forms’ launch exhibition,’ back in 2006.
