Body cinema: On Tadeusz Kantor

June 7, 2009

I don’t think I’m able to speak out how much I admire the work by Tadeusz Kantor, an extraordinary visual artist and theater director.

Luckily enough, I found these days a short documentary on his work, as somewhat small visual introduction to the career of this theater genius. Because he was a sort of precede of performance art, I decided to include him into Body cinema, although his artworkz were of outer limits…

Raimund Hoghe’s tiny little thingz

May 11, 2009

This year’s edition of Queer Zagreb Festival was enriched for different concepts and poetics… the performative aspect of the programme re-marked the position of second and third generation in queer subculture, like Raimund Hoghe, then Ivo Dimcev, Alain Buffard, new forces as Dominic Johnson,  Andre Masseno, Francois Haignaud & Cecilia Bangolea, etc.

In the year of 2009, I’m still enjoying watching video material of early artworkz by Pina Bausch. If there is a theater, besides Butoh, that yet makes me speechless, than we are talking on Bauch’s theatre…

Stoll & Wachall duo enjoying visual kinetics

November 4, 2008

Back to the Platform of Young Choreographers! I still have some unfinished thoughts on stuff I saw back than…

While I was at the presentation of video installation with excerpts of dance piece MISCHAderFALL, choreographed by Bernard Baumgarten and re-mixed by video artists Stoll & Wachall because of the atmospheric mood and drone sounds I had a re-re-re-thinking echo several days after I saw it.
