Pocket cinema: She Who Measures

I just realized I have never presented any Croatian film in this section… Veljko Popovic‘s animation film She Who Measures got tones awards at international festivals during 2008 and 2009.  The film was recently submitted for the 100th festival appearance…

Synopsis:
Are we truly free? Are our desires truly our own or merely imposed products of the society we live in? The question this film is asking is this: are we slaves to the culture and society we were born in or is there a way to escape after all?

Veljko Popovic graduated in 2003 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb and presently he works as Assistant Professor at the Arts Academy in Split, Croatia. Popovic is a co-founder of Lemonade3d design studio. At the moment he’s working on short animation entitled Old Woman and a Dog.
