The name of photographer Denis Darzacq became for gallerists and curators really a must have name, cause his photos got a lot of fairly deserved attention… Dancers in shops or urban streets flying around in ordinary clothes with unusual positions of their body parts…

Old school photography: Duro Janekovic
Some of you maybe remember when I blogged about photographer Toso Dabac last year. Yeah, the one we call ‘our Henri Cartier Bresson’. It’s interesting how ‘small nations’ always need to refer to ‘bigger nations‘…
Anyway, several weeks ago the Museum of Arts and Crafts in Zagreb opened an exhibition with photographs by Duro Janekovic (1912-1989). He was Dabac’s fellow, but his work hasn’t been so far presented… As photojournalist Janekovic created amazing street photographs; and as athlete he had the great sense for dance and sport photography.
