Interview with Chao Gan: Watching films is like dreaming

Chao Gan’s striking documentary The Red Race was the winner of Zagreb Film Festival in 2008. This year Gan was a jury member in documentary competition of the same festival. It was really a great opportunity to talk with him about his career, The Red Race and development of documentary genre in China.

Belgians dancing Rumba…

After seeing ‘Rumba‘ at ZFF, my first thought was that this film would make Laurel and Hardy, Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin altogether… laughing, thinking, crying or even, Latino dancing.

Luis Bunuel would probably be jealous on the screenplay, Dziga Vertov ought to still their colours, Eugene Ionesco re-writing again and again his plays, while the Marx Brothers might think to take break for a while…
